Team members can also create steps to break down a task into more manageable pieces. They can break down the required effort for each step and report at that level of granularity. This provides the team member with his/her own "To Do" list for each project assignment. Each step can include actual time, estimate to complete and percent complete. This ability to break down assignments into manageable parts also allows the resource to qualify portions of the daily reported time by using the integrated time codes. On any given day, a resource may have an 8-hour assignment that involves 2 hours of travel time, 4 hours of requirement analyses and 2 hours of internal reporting. In this example, only the 4 hours are actually billable. Most time-capture products fail to support multiple time assignment designations on the same day. Steps provide a powerful time qualification solution to the more complex activities that are prevalent in dynamic project environments. |
